Casual loading
Casual employees engaged under the Minimum Conditions of Employment Act 1993 receive an additional loading to compensate for other entitlements
The Minimum Conditions of Employment Act 1993 (MCE Act) requires that casual employees receive a 20 per cent loading on top of the minimum hourly wage.
The formula for calculating a casual employee’s rate of pay is as follows:

Casual employees covered by awards and agreement may receive a different loading than those engaged under the MCE Act.
