ULP price alert - start of new price cycle in Perth
Issue Date: - Tuesday, 28 July 2009
FuelWatch is encouraging Perth motorists to buy their petrol today or tomorrow while cheaper prices are still available and to always check petrol prices before they buy.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 29 July 2009, some BP sites are increasing their ULP prices to 130.9 cents per litre (cpl), an increase of 16 cpl. A number of Caltex sites are also increasing their ULP prices to 129.9 cpl, an increase of 18 cpl. This signals the start of a new petrol price cycle in Perth.
Perth’s petrol prices typically follow a weekly cycle, where prices increase sharply during a two to three day period and then slowly decrease for the remainder of the week. Not all brands move their prices at the same time so there is a wide variation in prices from site to site.
Tomorrow, 200 (69%) petrol stations are selling below the metropolitan average of 115.5 cpl.
Tomorrow’s cheapest ULP is available for:
- 109.5 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Midvale and Caltex Woolworths Forrestfield in the East;
- 109.5 cpl at 12 sites in the North; and
- 108.8 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Canning Vale and Caltex Woolworths Maddington Centro
Shopping Centre in the South.
Motorists can find the cheapest prices by checking the FuelWatch website at
