2008 Awards for Excellence
This year two individual high achievers took out the WA Plumbing Industry’s top award for excellence at the annual gala night held in the Grand Ballroom of Burswood’s Entertainment Complex.
The 2008 Plumber of the Year was jointly awarded to Clint Johnson of Ace Plumbing and Gas in Maylands, and Anthony D’Ovidio of Galaxy Plumbing and Gas Fitting in O’Connor.
Each winner received a cash prize of $1,500 and was awarded a certificate.
“The competition was steep this year with a strong field of licensed plumbers vying to be the best of the best in their industry,” Plumbers Licensing Board Chair Judy Seif said.
“The judges had a very difficult task and arrived at the decision that Clint and Anthony were this years high achievers for their excellent plumbing knowledge, skills, diligence and exemplary service delivery to their customers.
Pride Plumbing and Gas in Maylands took out the Boards 2008 Plumbing Business of the Year award and received a $2,500 cash prize.
“Pride excelled as a plumbing business at having demonstrated high standards in customer service and workmanship with superior commitments to occupational health and safety and ongoing professional development for their people,” she said.
“The Plumbers Licensing Board is proud to sponsor the plumbing excellence awards for individuals and businesses as part of the annual Master Plumber and Gasfitters Association of WA Awards event,” she said.
The Plumbers Licensing Board oversees plumbing work in Western Australia, including:
- upholding professional standards;
- monitoring trade education and training standards; and
- prosecuting those who undertake unlicensed plumbing work.
Consumers in Western Australian can be confident that licensed plumbers in our state are subjected to vigorous training and accreditation regimes and the Board is committed to maintaining customer focused quality.
