The Resources Safety Division at the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection has been notified that a man was killed on Friday 1 July 2005 at a gold mine near Wiluna, in the north-eastern Goldfields.
The man was a worker at Agincourt Resources’ open-pit gold mine. He was an employee of Mining and Civil Australia Pty Ltd.
The fatality happened shortly after 3pm Friday. It is believed the man was crushed while helping to jump-start a truck.
Police were at the scene late Friday, and mining inspectors from the Resources Safety Division of DOCEP flew to the scene from Kalgoorlie and Perth early Saturday morning to begin their investigation into the causes of the incident.
