A new tool on the FuelWatch website to help consumers streamline their search for the cheapest fuel in their region is one click away.
"Instead of having to select each town individually from the Suburb list, consumers will now be able to select their region in one easy click." said Patrick Walker, Consumer Protection Prices Commissioner.
"The search function will then provide the consumer with a list of the fuel stations in their region of choice listing the cheapest stations first.
"The real benefit will be for motorists who are traveling through towns on business or holidays. They will be able to select a region and find the best place to stop so they can fill up and save money." Mr Walker said.
FuelWatch provides prices of all fuel types for over 600 fuel stations around Western Australia from Kunnurra to Albany.
For easier access towns are grouped into one of the following major regions:
- Gascoyne - Goldfields-Esperance - Great Southern
- Kimberley - Metro - North - Metro - South
- Metro- East/Hills - Mid West - Peel
- Pilbara - South West - Wheatbelt
To use the new search function simply visit the FuelWatch website at www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au and click on either 'Quick Search' or 'Advanced Search' on the side bar menu.
FREE personalised price emails listing the cheapest prices and their locations are available to consumers by subscribing to FuelWatch through the website.
Consumers can also find the cheapest petrol in their nearest FuelWatch town by phoning 1300 55 08 08 for the cost of a local call anywhere in the State.
