New rules for agents to combat real estate fraud

Amendments to the Code of Conduct for Real Estate Agents and Sales Representatives requiring mandatory identification checks (by agents) of all people wishing to sell their property, will take effect from 1 November 2011. These changes are being implemented to better protect WA property owners following the fraudulent sale of two Perth properties in the last thirteen months.

The guidance notes below have been developed to assist agents and sales representatives in their compliance with the amended Code of Conduct.
