ThinkSafe
New direction
In September 2004, WorkSafe launched a five-year occupational safety and health (OSH) strategy for Western Australian small businesses.
The strategy is a mix of initiatives identified by international and national research as effective in influencing the OSH practices of small business owners. The initiatives focus on provision of information, advice, training and assistance and on the implementation of systemic OSH practices and policies within small business workplaces.
Target group
The ThinkSafe Small Business Strategy targets small businesses (employing less than 20 people) that fall within the following high-risk industry sectors:
- agriculture, forestry and fishing;
- construction;
- health and community services;
- manufacturing;
- retail and wholesale trade;
- transport and storage;
