Safe Work Australia Week 2009: 25-31 October 2009
Safe Work Australia Week 2008

Safe work is about preventing workplace incidents and managing injuries. During the week, WorkSafe encourages Western Australian workplaces, occupational safety and health organisations and practitioners and rehabilitation providers to have an extra focus on safety and health and injury management.

Workplaces right across Australia get involved by organising events and activities during the week.

22 October - Safe Work Australia Week Breakfast at the Perth Zoo.
27 October - Perth Work Safe 2009 Forum at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
30 October - Safety Achievers Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Perth (by invitation only)

Your workplace activities

Over 440 organisations and workplaces registered and held workplaces activities during 2009 Safe Work Australia Week and received two new WorkSafe posters and the 2010 ThinkSafe planner.

Five organisations were drawn and received free tickets to attend the Perth Work Safe 2009 Forum.

This year WorkSafe also encouraged workplaces to hold a Take 10 at 10 safety talk. WorkSafe provided interested organisations with 10 different 10 minute speaking notes to talk about safety in their workplace during the week. The topics were:

Safe Work Australia Week 2008

Over 140 people attended the 2008 Safe Work Australia Week Breakfast Launch at the Burswood on Swan Function Centre on 17 October to hear Dr Fiona Wood speak. Over 150 organisations registered their Safe Work Australia Week workplace activities in 2008 and received a free poster kit.
