Farm Safety Strategy
Providing safety and health support to rural operations
The Farm Safe Strategy is a program that aims to increase the number of rural enterprises with a safety and health action plan in place.
Coordinating with Farmsafe WA Alliance, the Farm Safety Strategy offers a free on site audit and advisory service with an independent and fully accredited safety consultant. The advisor will assist farmers to conduct risk assessments and prepare safety and health action plans.
The Farm Safe Strategy objectives are to:
- identify and prioritise safety and health issues;
- increase awareness of health and safety issues;
- ensure an increase in "active" support that promotes injury prevention;
- promote safety and health solutions that encourage safety management to become integral to farming operations; and
- promote change that encourages farmers to improve safety and health performance as part of an increase in farm productivity.
Farm Safe Strategy is administered and delivered by the Farmsafe WA Alliance (the Alliance), in collaboration with WA Farmers and agriculture industry associations.
