The Research Centres Program is designed to provide initial and catalytic investments to establish and support research centres that focus on specific Western Australian challenges and opportunities.

Objectives

The major aim of the Research Centres Program is to provide initial and catalytic investments to establish and support research centres that focus on specific Western Australian challenges and opportunities.

The objectives of the Research Centres Program are to:

  • Develop world-class research centres that will attract and retain researchers and innovators to Western Australia
  • Facilitate end-user driven, collaborative research
  • Develop interrelated science and technology nodes of expertise in Western Australia
  • Increase research and development (R&D) investment in Western Australia
  • Improve Western Australia’s connections, nationally and internationally in strategic innovation areas and
  • Facilitate research collaboration with Commonwealth Government agencies and focus on leveraging Commonwealth funding.
