Registration of explosives magazines
The Chief Officer has determined that the process of registering explosives magazines with Resources Safety is no longer required.Under the Dangerous Goods Safety (Explosives) Regulations 2007, there is a requirement for all holders of an explosives storage licence to prepare an explosives management plan (EMP) that should incorporate all information relating to each complying magazine in use. Resources Safety will no longer allocate magazine numbers. However, any number already issued may be retained for the magazine to which it was originally issued. Any new magazines are to be allocated a company specific number that can be tracked under the EMP.
The application form for an explosives storage licence is being amended to incorporate further details.
