Effect of Work Choices on WA workplaces

Employers and employees need to understand how their employment arrangements changed after March 2006 as a result of the Work Choices legislation.

As a consequence of Work Choices, Western Australian businesses and their respective employees are covered by either the State or Federal labour relations systems. 

This depends entirely on whether the business concerned is a constitutional corporation.

It is important that all employers and employees understand which system applies to them - this will determine the relevant legislation and employment options.
