Review of the Gender Pay Gap in Western Australia 2004

In 2004 Drs Trish Todd and Joan Eveline from the University of Western Australia were commissioned to conduct a review of the gender pay gap in Western Australia.

The Report of the Review of the Gender Pay Gap in Western Australia, tabled in Parliament in November 2004, provided 34 recommendations on strategies to address the gender pay gap.

One of the key recommendations of the report was the establishment of a Pay Equity Unit for Western Australia.  In February 2006 the Pay Equity Unit was established within the Labour Relations Division of the then Department of Consumer and Employment Protection.
