Review of the Gender Pay Gap in Western Australia 2004

In 2004 the then Minister for Consumer and Employment Protection, Hon John Kobelke MLA, commissioned Dr Trish Todd and Dr Joan Eveline to carry out a review of the gender pay gap in Western Australia.

The Report on the Review of the Gender Pay Gap in Western Australia (the Todd / Eveline Report)was tabled in Parliament on 26 November 2004.  The report's recommendations provide a blueprint for addressing gender pay equity in this State.

One of the recommendations of the report was the establishment of a Pay Equity Unit.  In February 2006 the Pay Equity Unit was established within the Labour Relations Division of the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection.
