Complaints about wages and entitlements

Employees may be able to pursue unpaid wages and entitlements through DOCEP

DOCEP can assist employees engaged under the State labour relations system.  Employees who have not received wages or other benefits due under a State award, agreement or the Minimum Conditions of Employment Act 1993 should contact Wageline on 1300 655 266 to discuss filing a complaint.

Taking independent action

Employees can also take their own action to recover outstanding wages and entitlements, either independently or through their union. Employees wishing to take their own legal action should contact the Industrial Magistrates Court on (08) 9420 4411 for advice on the procedure.  This is available to all employees covered by the State and federal industrial relations systems.

Contractual entitlements

Employees who have not received wages or other benefits due under an employment contract can make a 'Contractual Entitlements Claim' to the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission on (08) 9420 4444.

Federal award, agreement or legislative entitlements

Employees who have not received wages or other benefits due under a federal award, agreement or the Workplace Relations Act 1996 should contact the Workplace Authority on 1300 363 264.
