Employers need to be aware of their employment obligations
Education Services provides a range of services for new employers to ensure that they are aware of employment legislation and correct award entitlements. The services provided include telephone advice, one-on-one meetings, and seminars on request.

DOCEP Labour Relations provides information for employers on:
- Wages and conditions: award summaries, wage rates, public holidays, leave, minimum conditions of employment, and other employment entitlements
- Employment agreements: enterprise-bargaining agreements, employer-employee agreements, and how to write an employment contract
- Termination and dismissal: unfair dismissal, unlawful termination, redundancy, and tips on minimising the risk of unfair dismissal claims
- Types of employment: casual employment, fixed term employment, apprenticeships and traineeships, probationary work, and employees and subcontractors
- Workplace issues: information for new business owners, electronic surveillance, alcohol and drugs, workplace bullying, and jury service
- Work and family: parental leave obligations, retaining mature employees, and implementing family friendly initiatives
