WorkSafe investigates death of worker at Moora

WorkSafe is investigating the death of a 37-year-old man at a factory in Moora yesterday afternoon.
The man was believed to have been visiting the workplace seeking employment when a rack of steel beams he was standing beside collapsed. He was struck and killed by a piece of falling steel.
WorkSafe inspectors traveled to the site this morning and will interview witnesses and investigate the circumstances.
WorkSafe thoroughly investigates serious work-related injuries and deaths in WA with a view to preventing future incidents of a similar nature.
WorkSafe WA Commissioner Nina Lyhne said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed her sincere condolences to the man’s family.
