Petrol Prices - BP starts new price cycle tomorrow
Issue Date: - Sunday, 17 February 2008
Monday 18 February 2008, BP is increasing their unleaded petrol (ULP) prices to 142.9 cents per litre (cpl) at a number of their sites.
This signals the start of a new petrol price cycle in Perth. Over the last few months, petrol prices in the metropolitan area have generally been following a two-week cycle. This means that petrol prices currently increase over a two to three day period and then slowly decrease over the next week and a half.
The average price of ULP across Perth tomorrow is 133.0 however more than 150 service stations will still be selling petrol at 131.9 cpl or less. FuelWatch is encouraging motorists to buy their petrol today or tomorrow while cheaper prices are still available and to check petrol prices before they buy.
Motorists are encouraged to buy their fuel from retailers who maintain cheaper prices.
In the Eastern suburbs tomorrow the cheapest fuel can be purchased from United Roleystone for 129.5 cpl.
In the Northern suburbs tomorrow the cheapest fuel can be purchased from Caltex Woolworths Mirrabooka for 129.4 cpl.
And south of the river tomorrow the cheapest fuel can be purchased from United Armadale for 129.1 cpl.
Motorists can find the best prices before buying by checking the FuelWatch website at www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au <http://www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/> or by telephoning 1300 550 808.
