WorkSafe investigates death of farmer
WorkSafe is investigating the work-related death of a 72-year-old farmer at Cookernup near Harvey yesterday afternoon.
The farmer was believed to have been cutting up a fallen tree with his son when a branch struck and crushed him.
Inspectors traveled to the site this morning and will investigate the circumstances.
WorkSafe thoroughly investigates all serious work-related injuries and deaths in WA with a view to preventing future incidents of a similar nature.
WorkSafe WA Commissioner Nina Lyhne said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed her sincere condolences to the man’s family.
