This year’s Queen’s Birthday public holiday will be held on Monday 26 September.
The Department of Consumer and Employment Protection has been receiving a growing number of enquiries about the date of the holiday.
“It seems that some commercial diaries again carry the wrong date,” Labour Relations Executive Director Jeff Radisich said today.
“Traditionally the Queen’s Birthday public holiday in Western Australia coincides with the start of the Royal Show and the first week of term three school holidays,” Mr Radisich said.
“Some diaries and calendars for 2005 have been incorrectly printed with 3 October 2005 as the date.
“Last year, the problem was more widespread, but it seems that some diary publishers are still not making adequate checks before printing their products. The Department has again confirmed with the publishers the correct dates for the forthcoming years.”
