The Minister for Consumer and Employment Protection John Kobelke has approved variations to retail trading hours as a result of the Easter and ANZAC Day public holidays.
Retail shops in the Perth Tourism Precinct will be permitted to trade to 9.00pm on Thursday 28 March 2002 to compensate for the late night trading lost in the City on the Good Friday public holiday, 29 March 2002.
Retailers throughout the metropolitan area and all major regional centres will also have late night trading on Thursday 28 March 2002.
Also approved is a late night trading substitution for general shops on Wednesday 24 April 2002 as a consequence of the ANZAC Day public holiday closure, 25 April 2002. This variation will not alter arrangements in the Perth Tourism Precinct but will apply throughout the metropolitan area and in all major regional centres.
Motor Vehicle dealer hours are not varied by these adjustments.
Exempted General Shops (Small Shops) and Special Shops may trade each day of the year.
