Peter HOLZ of Westfield who claims to be a "model promoter", is to have his day in court in an attempt to overturn convictions brought against him by the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection under the Fair Trading Act.
The Supreme Court today set the 10th of April as the date for Mr Holz's appeal to be heard.
In January 2001 whilst trading as IFMO-Profoto "model promoter", Mr Holz was convicted of five offences under the Fair Trading Act.
The Perth Court of Petty Sessions found that he had made false statements to five women and girls about the likelihood of them finding work as models.
He was fined $6,000 with costs of $4,000 and ordered to pay restitution of $1,825 to three of the models.
Mr Holz later appealed against this decision.
"The department is determined to stand by its prosecution action", Consumer Protection Commissioner Patrick Walker said today.
"Any consumers who have had similar experiences need to contact us immediately on telephone number 1300 30 40 54", Mr Walker said.
