About the department

The Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (DOCEP) was formed on 1 July 2001.

The department has seven divisions: Consumer Protection, EnergySafety, Labour Relations, WorkSafe, Office of the Director General, Corporate Services and Resources Safety - formerly the Safety and Health Division of the Department of Industry and Resources.

To create an employment and trading environment that provides for the growth, safety and protection of the community by:
