What you need to do to get a certificate

The following checklist will help you to decide what class or classes of repair work certificate you might apply for.

  1. Decide which class or classes of repair work you require.
  2. Check what qualifications you require to get the certificate you want.
  3. Download the Application for Motor Vehicle Repairer's Certificate form and Information Booklet, or request a copy by calling 9282 4338.
  4. Obtain relevant documents and evidence to support your application.
  5. Obtain a National Police Certificate from participating Australia Post offices.
  6. Submit your application and pay the relevant fee.
